The fault in our stars (TFIOS) by John Green

Hello avid readers of the internet! Today I'm reviewing The fault in our stars (TFIOS) by John Green.

TFIOS cover
The book is narrated by 17 year old Hazel Grace Lancaster, A cancer patient, who is forced to attend a group for people who have survived and are diagnosed with cancer. Here she meets the philosophical  and metaphor loving Augustus waters (Gus) whom she develops a friendship which then turns into a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship,

The book has many relate-able characters in such as:
Hazel Grace Lancaster - 17 year old cancer patient who is a big fan of America's Next Top Model and a book called Imperial Affliction. Also Augustus waters girlfriend
Augustus waters- 17 or 18 year old cancer survivor who is a big fan of metaphors and Hazel's boyfriend
Issac- Hazel and Gus's friend who is blind
Patrick- youth group leader who participates in the "circle jerk of trust" which is in the heart of Jesus (according to Hazel)
Peter Van Houten - author of "A Imperial Affliction" Hazel's favourite author
and then you have their parents who are very supportive.

I love this book as it has characters who are ill but don't let the illness get them down, who can still have a laugh and this book is very relate-able in the fact that we all have something wrong with us that makes us think we can't find love, but this book shows. That you can and the fact that this book always keeps you laughing makes the book/ characters even more love-able.

The character I love the most and identify with is Hazel I knew I would love her within three pages of the book when she made this statement "The circle jerk of trust" and this other statement (warning there is a swear word in this quote) "That's when the math kicks in and like any healthy person would think I gotta outlast four of these bastards!"
I love the fact she's feisty and doesn't let her condition get her down. I also identify with the fact that she doesn't go out much due to her condition as I don't get out to much due to my disability, also the fact that she feels everyone stares at her and overlook her due to her cancer and I feel the exact same way!
I can also understand why she doesn't want to go to the club for kids with/survived cancer as she thinks it will be depressing (It is in TFIOS) this is something I do not relate to as my Youth Group is very upbeat, bubbly and all round fun.

I think EVERYONE needs to read this book! You can buy it here and here
quotes: "I know love is just a shout out into the void and the oblivion is inevitable"
"my thoughts are stars that cannot fathom into constellations" Augustus waters
"some infinities are bigger than other infinities!" Hazel Grace Lancaster
"Okay" Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus waters
Okay I am off now till my next post have a awesome time Bye!
