The hollow by jessica Verday

Hello avid readers of the internet today I am reviewing a book called "The Hollow" it's a three part book series written by Jessica Verday, I am only on book one which is "The Hollow".

Synopsis (plot)
the story is set in the mysterious town of "Sleepy Hollow" we see life through a teenage girl called Abbey "Abigail" we see her try to come to terms with the death of her best friend Kristen. She finds it very hard to come to terms with and still thinks Kristen is alive while in the midst of all this she befriends the mysterious Caspian who has secrets of his own, she starts to fall in love with but soon she starts to doubt her own sanity when she learns a secret that makes her question everything she thought she knew about  her best friend

Main Characters
Abigail (Abbey) - A teenage girl that struggles to come to terms with her best friend Kristen's death and soon falls in love with the mysterious called Caspian
Kristen- Best friend of Abbey's Kristen kept a daunting secret that possibly lead to her death
Caspian- Love interest of Abbey Caspian is the mysterious boy who has a lot of secrets

Now I thought the book was a heart wrenching thriller that makes you question everything you thought you knew about "people" and whether you can trust ANYONE  I absolutely love Abbey's strength and determination about finding out about Kristen's death and her mysterious secret and I can't wait to read the next two instalments of the series  The Haunted  and The Hidden.

I found The hollow in my school's library you can buy it here or here
The Haunted: here or Here
The Hidden here or Here

I can't wait to read the next two books they are lovely refreshing series of books to read (judging from the first book)  it's a great book to move onto once you've read the The Hunger Games trilogy
anyway Merry christmas and a happy new year
enjoy it

Noughts and crosses (RE-REVIEWED)

Hi avid readers of all shapes and sizes MERRY CHRISTMAS Now today I shall review "Noughts and crosses " By Malorie Blackman  now this is the first book out of a four book series, It's about the
dystopian future where the world is not as it seems as black people known as "Crosses" are in charge of the world where white people are known as"Noughts", there are two main protagonists in this book Callum who is a "Nought" and Persephony  (Sephy) a "Cross:" who are childhood friends but when a deadly romantic passion emerges Sephy and Callum are determined to find a way to stay with each other!
Characters
Callum- Nought in love with cross Sephy
Sephy (persephone)- Cross in love with nought Callum
Jasmine/Kamal- Sephy and Minevira's parents
Mineveria (Minnie)- Sephy's sister
Maggie/Ryan-Callum, Jude and Lynette's mum and dad
Jude- Callum/ Lynette's brother
Book cover
Lynette- callum and Jude older sister

I'm not a big fan of this book as the pacing within the books is really slow and I found myself getting bored quickly I'm still on page 98 and stuck there. I think this storyline has great potential... but the fact that you find out the actual storyline very slowly just makes the book slow, repetitive and it just lags making you bored and uninterested,

I have one or two good points: The fact that Callum and Sephy's relationship is slow and steady and full of passion helps you read on just a little bit more.... Just not enough for me to find the will to finish the book,

Also the fact that it makes you wonder how much we take for granted and that racism and prejudices' are still apart of the world even though we have developed and evolved it also shows us that if the worlds history was just a little different how would the world turn out?  why? and this book tries to make us understand that which is a good pro for the book but it just isn't enough for this book to be interesting to me... And I usually love Malorie Blackman books, eg: The stuff of nightmares so the fact I didn't like this book has made me a little sad

so I hope you enjoyed the review dont forget MERRY CHRISTMAS until the next review bye bye
